Dean of Students Teruo Nishimura
I am Sayoko Funatsu of the Student Department.
Driving and music are my hobbies. I can speak English.
I provide daily support to students from before their coming to Japan until graduation.
When I see students coming every day, and their language skills improve day by day, I feel greatly happy. At the same time, I learn a lot of precious things from the students as well.
I also have experience of living abroad. Unable to understand the language, unfamiliar to the foreign rules, no friends to talk with… People get stressed under such condition. If you feel like in trouble, please don’t hesitate to come to us for help. Maybe we are not able to immediately solve your problem every time, but, let us try hard together.
Hello. I am Naoko Nozawa of Student Department.
I went to China for language study when I was a student. The curiosity for
experience different language and culture inspired me to live abroad at that time.
When asked about what one can gain from the abroad life, I would say, your
future choices will multiply if you learn a new language. Your vision will also be enlarged the same time you get in touch with new culture or unfamiliar habits. Moreover, you will deepen the understanding of your own country as you understand another.
When I studied abroad, nothing about my future was clearly in my mind. I just didn’t want to waste the precious opportunity for learning. And right now, thanks to that experience, I am able to follow the career as supporting international students here in Japan.
Although study at the language school is just a stop for you to move forward,it is your first landing place in Japan. As an important bridge that links to the future, we hope you could learn to understand Japanese culture, practice, and way of thinking through your study here.
Please have a rich life at TCJ!
Hello everybody, I’m Matsuda.
First, I’m really happy that you are interested in Japan, and coming to Japan for studying the language. I have been to countries outside Japan to meet hundreds of students who are interested in studying in Japan like you, and had an interview and gave introduction to them. I’m always impressed and moved to see the students trying to communicate with me with Japanese they have just learned. Even with the simple words and phrases they give me, I can feel their ambitions and willing for studying Japanese.
Learning a new language is not easy, but, it makes your world much more huge and fantastic. Language is the very first step to make you get into a completely new country, develop yourself and obtain useful skills for your future. This is what I myself have experienced, and what I want to share with every student considering coming to Japan.
Every second in a new country will give you the fresh knowledge and attractive experience to you. It is said that Japanese people tend to be a little bit shy, many of them are not good at speaking foreign language, but DON’T WORRY. Once you open your mouth and say Konnichiwa, they will happily give you the best smile, try to communicate as much as they can, with their world-known hospitality!
You are still worried about your new life in Japan? You don’t know how to apply for school? Wanna information about higher education in Japan? NO PROBLEM. We are always here in school to help you.
Our duty is to help you come to Japan, enjoy a new life and go on for your brilliant future. So let’s start your new step with us! We are always waiting to hear from you!

I have worked and studied overseas in cities as Shanghai, Shenzhen and Taipei.
There, I’ve met many people who wished to study Japanese and come to Japan.
I’d like to use the Chinese that I’ve learned back then, to help you with your life studying abroad.
Tokyo’s Shinjuku is a city that has a great environment of accepting and offering opportunities to foreigners.
We welcome all the students who like to study in the best environment in Japan.
How do you do? I am Tsuneshige of Tokyo Central Japanese Language School.
My job is supporting you: from your arriving in Japan until your graduation from TCJ.
I studied in New Zealand and the Philippines before starting to work at this school, and I learned there different values and customs of each country, as well as languages.
Leaning a foreign language is possible even in your country, but you never know the background of a foreign country without being there and having actual experiences.
TCJ’s environment is properly managed so that you can learn not only Japanese language but also the Japanese way of thinking through a lot of experiences, so I believe you will be highly satisfied with your study here.
I look forward to seeing you at TCJ.
