President’s Greeting

The education of Tokyo Central Japanese Language School (TCJ) is composed
of two parts: (1) Japanese language education for foreign students from over 40 countries; (2) Japanese teacher training course.

Since TCJ was founded in 1988, we have set up our goal as helping realize
students’ dreams through language learning, and the school has kept improving under that goal. Beyond merely language teaching, we emphasize more on inspiring students to make best of their knowledge and live on what they have learned. We truly hope that all TCJ graduates will be active on the global stage with an international vision.

For Japanese language education for foreign students, there are daily course,business Japanese and other various courses in order to fit different needs from the students. Furthermore, we are making our efforts to inviting more exciting joint programs with excellent universities and professional colleges to provide better support for students’ pursuing higher education. We understand that life abroad may not all be good times, and all of our TCJ teachers and staff will support the students’ life with our whole heart.

As our second part of TCJ education, the Japanese teacher training course is a mix of theoretical education, technical training, and real in-class practice. We train our students to “be able to teach on whatever occasion and to whoever theaudience is.” And therefore, our students of Japanese teacher training course are close to the foreign students at TCJ, and both communicate with each other friendly. Actually, from the first day you enter TCJ, it means that your cross-cultural communication begins.

Nowadays globalization is a powerful real aspect of the world. There is, at
the same time, an immense need for global talents who can work beyond the
national borders under the new era. We are trying our best to construct a better education system, to provide better support for our students to become a global citizen in the future.
